Introduction

As you can infer from the title, this post is supposed to be somewhat motivational and will shed some light on a common dilemma that our society is in and some ideas on how to resolve it.

Look around, what do you see? Everybody is caught up in the rat race of trying to pay their bills, living for the weekend, chasing the next trend, etc. There are very few people in this world who think beyond themselves and work to create positive impact.

A good example would be none other than the real-life iron man, Elon Musk.

To everybody who thinks Elon Musk is driven by money, let me just remind you that he owns enough money to buy an entire country. His ultimate goal is to enable humans to become a multi-planetary species and his income is only a reflection of the impact he is bringing into people’s lives.

The sad reality

I firmly believe that so many people today are living fake lives, from buying stuff they don’t need to working jobs they despise, all for just a little more cash into their pockets. Everybody has a different perspective on life and not everybody is meant to become a business owner. Instead of chasing cash, work towards achieving true fulfillment in your lives.

For instance, you could be a teacher shaping the minds of the next generation, but get paid a little less than you would at working a job that makes you miserable.

Work ethic — a non-negotiable trait of successful people

You see, in life, there are factors that we can control and the ones we can’t. For instance, if you are driving on the highway and following the speed limit, and a maniac just crashes into you from behind, you would get agitated. But there is nothing you could’ve done about that.

Similarly at your job, and particularly in business, the only thing you can fully control is the number of hours you put in.

This trait is something all millionaires have in common — work ethic. This means that they sacrifice family life, hanging out with friends, and leisure time to make their vision a reality.

Passion

It’s also important to note that you can only be super successful at a certain endeavor if you absolutely love it. Even if it’s unpopular among your circle of friends or the people you hang out with, if it makes you happy, then know that you have achieved success. In fact, the most successful people are those who are always in their own zone and remain deaf to everybody else’s opinion. That doesn’t mean they don’t listen to constructive feedback, but it doesn’t deter them from continuing with their passion.

Opportunities & The right course of action

Another important quality of successful people is that they are always on the lookout for opportunities. This could come in the form of networking, finding a job, learning a skill, or starting a business.

What I find super interesting, especially among aspiring entrepreneurs is how many of them, after graduating school just immediately jump into the ocean and try to figure out the ins and outs of running a business themselves. Successful entrepreneurs like Patrick Bet David, Tom Bilyeu, and others highly suggest that beginners shadow their role models for a few years before they can do something on their own. You may not get paid a lot, but the experience you gain will be invaluable in your upcoming pursuit.

Pursuit of an adventure

I came across a YouTube video of Andrew Tate, a professional kick-boxer who described boredom as his main motivation for achieving something big. In other words, some people can’t even comprehend the idea of living paycheque to paycheque and just getting through, rather they want a life of adventure and uncertainty because it just makes it more worthwhile.

Excuses are for losers

To everybody who wants to start a business, but doesn’t have capital, they go out and raise it. If your country promotes violence and takes away your civil rights, move somewhere else.

What I am trying to get at is that obstacles and hardships are inevitable, how you tackle and overcome them is what really matters.

Risk

Taking risks is inevitable when you begin to chase your dreams. Needless to say, everything we do in life is risky, whether that’s acquiring an education, getting a job, developing relationships, investing, starting a YouTube channel, becoming an athlete, or anything else you can things of.

As a matter of fact, not going after your dreams is ten times riskier than actually chasing them. That being said, regret is the scariest thing human beings can have at the end of their life. It’s better to take your shot and fail rather than not take it at all. So why not aim for the moon, at least you’ll end up among the stars 😉

Conclusion

Just imagine how ridiculously privileged and fortunate you are to be living in the internet age. I mean it is possible that you were born in the ice age or during the Great Depression, or all the other miserable times in our history, but that’s not the case. That’s not to say, however, that we don’t have problems, but it is far better than what our ancestors had to bear.

Having said all that, it is not appropriate for young and talented people to sit around like lumps and complain about their current job, the economy, or even gas prices.

Hope this article gave you a little bit of a boost and will push you towards achieving true fulfillment and not just short-term wealth.
